Using the health belief model to predict potential adoption of a new breast cancer diagnostic

Julie Karen Goonewardene, Purdue University

Abstract

Adoption of new methods and technologies is key to the success of translational research. This study examines the application of an existing behavioral adoption model to a new technology for breast cancer screening. To date, in the area of breast cancer screening, health behavior adoption research has been heavily focused on mammography. The current project broadens the scope of health behavior adoption research by examining an emerging breast cancer diagnostic.
