The Data Curation Symposium was hosted by Purdue Libraries and was held on September 24, 2012. The participants on the panel on broader perspectives were Dr. Nancy McGovern (MIT via Skype), Dianne Dietrich (Cornell University), and Holly Surbaugh (Stratus Consulting).

Participants on the panel were asked to answer and discuss three questions:

  1. Are there other applications for data curation profiles?
  2. Are there other areas that librarians could or should explore?
  3. What other potential exists out there for actively growing this capacity in librarians?
