Description

In the next three decades, farmers around the world will need to produce more food to meet the growing demands of society. They will be asked to produce more food than has been produced in the previous 10,000 years combined. Leaders throughout the public and private sector will be working to discover and deliver new innovations that can help farmers keep up with these agriculture demands while also mitigating the impact of increasingly volatile weather and evolving pressures from agriculture pests and disease. Agricultural innovation is essential for farmers to keep pace with demand and mitigate these challenges in a way that also sustainably manages the planet's finite natural resources. Amazing advances in biology and data science continue to unlock untapped potential on the farm but more is needed. As our world becomes more urbanized, collaboration and partnerships will be key to developing more creative solutions to these issues as we work together to meet the tremendous challenges in front of us. Dr. Robb Fraley will discuss the valuable role of innovation for farmers as well as its role in supporting food security and agriculture sustainability around the globe.
